Maximize Your Morning Makeup Time
Whether weekday mornings have you off to work or out on errands, you want to look your best. Here are some tips for getting a look you'll love — fast!
Mornings can be hectic. But in between getting the kids off to school and juggling a host of other duties, you still want to make sure you leave the house looking your best. So we've gathered some tips that will help you do just that, including expert advice from Kellie Walsh, a professional makeup artist and mother of two.

According to Walsh, with a little practice, "The morning routine can be pared down to as little as five minutes." Here's how.

Save time by using multipurpose products. Try COVERGIRL® SmokyShadowBlast™, with uniquely shaped tips to easily achieve smoky eye perfection.

Use a lightweight, skin-illuminating concealer pen under your eyes. "They have reflective qualities," says Walsh, "and won't settle into fine lines like heavier concealers do. These are great for brightening the eye area and minimizing redness around the nose." Use a heavier concealer to camouflage scars and pimples.

Give yourself a healthy glow. When it comes to blush, Walsh recommends cream blush for ease of application. Use a blush with a little shimmer on the apples of your cheeks. You even can blend blush on your forehead, nose and chin.

Wake up those beautiful eyes. Use a neutral cream or powder eye shadow on your lower lids and apply the same shimmering blush you used for your cheeks on your brow bone. Finish it off with one coat of mascara on your lashes.

Reduce shiny or oily skin. Use loose powder or blotting sheets to control excess shine, especially in the T-zone.

Add colour to your lips. Apply lipstick or lip gloss in a neutral shade to your lips, or try a tinted lip moisturizer to keep lips soft and smooth.

In addition to a quick makeup routine, there are other ways to make mornings in front of the mirror less hectic. Keep these tips in mind so that everything goes as smoothly as possible.

Good mornings start with good skin. Taking care of your skin and getting a good night's sleep will help you spend less time fixing flaws in front of the mirror. Drink plenty of water to keep your skin moisturized. Also, eat fresh fruits and vegetables. They provide essential nutrients for your skin.

Know what works for you. Hectic mornings are not the time to experiment with new makeup techniques. Figure out what shades and colours look best on you and stick to them. Visit COVERGIRL online to get a personal beauty consultation based on an analysis of your skin type, hair colour and more.

Organise your "work" space. Determine which items you use each morning and keep them together in a small organiser on your vanity top or in a drawer. Make sure to regularly clean out your makeup supply and discard items you haven't used in the past three months. If the item hasn't made it into your regular routine, pitch it to make room for the products you really use.
